Due to the amount of orders and level of design, custom work needs to be ordered well in advance of any special occasion, and we cannot guarantee completion if not up to 3 to 6 months before Christmas.

FAQ's

WHY AN ESTIMATE?

Our quotations generally don’t vary much from an estimate, but once the piece arrives in our design studio we are able to tell if there are any unforeseen issue(s) that will influence the cost, and the outcome. In that case there will be extra work involved to rectify them first; and you may need to adjust the way you visualised the end result.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE AN ORDER?

We base this on the level of work we have at the time of ordering. The shortest time it may take is 3 months and up to as long as 6 months, from initial ordering. Although there may be a long lead time, we will be happy to put you onto our waiting list. For any special event or occasion please order well in advance.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

Within 5 business days of your enquiry you will receive an email where we can chat about the details for your custom-made order… what occasion, design, colours, etc.… Once there’s a basic workable idea and agreement, we take a deposit, and your piece or order will go onto my schedule. To book a slot on my calendar a 50% deposit will put your piece in the line.

If we’re hand painting and refinishing your existing piece(s), here are some of the things required:

detailed photos or video of what needs painting, showing:
- the inside, outside, back, top and bottom
- the condition of the piece
- indicating any problem areas that may need repair or restoration (i.e. chipped veneer, anything broken or missing, heavy waxing, rusted hardware, water damage, little pin holes/woodworm).
the dimensions
if it’s from a smoke free home

Correspondence procedure - If on closer inspection your pieces(s) have unforeseen condition(s) I will consult with you. These may result in either a cost implication, or a different end view to what you had in mind. Unless I have a question along the way, I will notify you once I’ve started on your piece, and again on its completion. You will receive photos of the final piece.

WHAT ABOUT SHIPPING/COLLECTIONS?

Item(s) you provide for customisation will need to be transported by yourself or your courier to and from our design studio. Because there are no storage facilities it is necessary for your piece to arrive as close to the day as possible when work is due to start on it. And for you to arrange collection within 7 working days of completion.
